Iso-breakers

iso breakers facebook post

A bit more information

The iso-breakers will be leisurely and social, walking at an easy pace, with plenty of stops, sit-downs and surprise twists and turns. They're designed for you to acquaint or reacquaint yourself with what and who's around town (after the months we've all had!), what you could get involved with if you like, and what's to celebrate about Maldon and our community.

There's the community bus if you need it, and things will be organised so that we stay COVID-safe and within current restrictions.

There'll be plenty of opportunities to have a cuppa, a glass or a snack.

Starting points will be provided prior to each walk, to those registered. And endpoints have been chosen so that people can linger if they choose. Light refreshments included.

The routes for each walk have been planned by the Connect Maldon project group. Without spoiling the surprise ....

1. Gardeners and gatherers (Thursday October 15, 1.30 - 5.00-ish)
A foliage-influenced ramble involving a communal planting and story-telling, a gentle sporting pastime, a glimpse of what's possible in the creation of gardens, and a workshoppy, celebratory end where we'll all learn something about making arrangements.

2. The Sound of music (Friday Ooctober 23, 1.30 - 5.00-ish)
A lyrical journey that includes live music, a touch of Maldon musical history, a little light (accompanied) exercise and a tiny bit of singing.

3. Movers and shakers (Thursday November 20,1.30 - 5.00-ish)
Some gentle guided exercise, a taste of a sport long-associated with garden parties, a side-step into local history, and a final destination where everyone will be invited to 'have a try' (barefoot perhaps?).

4. Makers and doers (Sunday December 13, 10.00 - 1.30)
Take in local makers, creative groups who welcome new members (and their work), a couple of musical sideshows, and some heavy duty workshop space.

Join in .... it'll be a lovely, gentle way to celebrate coming out of isolation, and reconnecting with the good things.
