Acting for Beginners Level 2 Term 1 2026

'Acting for Beginners Level 2' will be held on Saturday afternoons for experienced actors who have previously completed the ‘Acting for Beginners Level 1’ course. The course will be facilitated by the Hobo’s Artistic Director, Jeffrey Bryant Jones.

During the course, students will explore a range of movement, vocal and story- making activities to create, write and perform their own 30-second performance piece. Students will also revisit the use of intentions, obstacles, strategies, and improvisations to prepare a longer monologue or scene for presentation at the Hobo Playhouse Showcase of scenes and monologues in Maldon in mid-June.

“The aim of the course is for students to improve their acting and performance skills and potentially develop self-confidence, self-esteem and personal empowerment,” Jeff said. The course will be followed by ‘Acting for Beginners Level 3’ from April 18-June 6 which is an advanced course that focuses on how actors can utilise techniques such as acting on impulse, acting and being present and embodied performance to enhance their skills.
