Local actor and artistic director of Hobo Playhouse Theatre Company, Jeffrey Bryant Jones will be conducting an ‘Acting for Beginners – Level 1’ course which provides a taster for those wanting to learn method acting.
Method acting focuses on realism and emotional authenticity and this introduction to the technique will cover everything from where the method started to how participants can utilise improvisations, sensory and affective memory, and relaxation exercises to build believable characters. “Importantly, the course aims to provide a safe space for participants to learn the basic skills of acting, and to increase their self-confidence along the way,” Jeff said. “It’s also lots of fun.”
The course is aimed at beginners (aged 18+) who have no acting experience but will also be suitable for experienced actors who want to learn the method technique or do a refresher.
