Community Transport Service

This is a local flexible door to door community transport service. You can use this service to go shopping, go the station, GP and hospital appointments, the library, visit friends, go swimming, to the movies, the hairdressers for whatever you need local transport. We meet the Airport Bus and V/Line trains so you can safely leave your car at home for trips to Melbourne or the airport.provides flexible bus services between Maldon, Baringhup, Castlemaine, Chewton, Wesley Hill, Barkers Creek, Campbells Creek and links to existing PTV services.

For travel within Castlemaine district – including Wesley Hill, Chewton, Barkers Creek and Campbells Creek

Be picked up between 10.10am and 11.10am and between 12.15pm and 1.15pm to go anywhere in the Castlemaine district.

For travel between Maldon & Castlemaine – including Muckleford, Walmer, McKenzie Hill

Be picked up in Maldon district between 9.30am and 9.50am to arrive in Castlemaine at 10.10am

Depart Castlemaine at 11.10am arriving in Maldon at 11.30am

Be picked up in Maldon district between 11.30 and 11.55am to arrive in Castlemaine at 12.15pm

Depart Castlemaine 1.15pm arriving in Maldon at 1.35pm.

Bus donations are $3 one trip, $5 two trips, $6 for three or more trips. The bus can accommodate up to 11 passengers and has storage room for luggage, wheelie walkers and shopping.

Seaside Trip to Ocean Grove Wednesday 17 April 9 - 5pm

Fancy a visit to the seaside? The Community Bus  will take you on a delightful trip to Ocean Grove, explore the township and enjoy fish and chips on the beach. Cost is $30 per person.

Art Lovers Wednesday 1 May, 9 - 4pm

Visit Bendigo Art Gallery for the renowned Tudors to Windsors: British Royal Portraits. This exhibition traces the history of the British monarchy through the outstanding collection of the National Portrait Gallery, London. Cost is $15 per person, not including exhibition entry fee.

Wine Appreciation Tour Thursday 16 May, 9 - 4pm

With a dry and warm climate, the Heathcote region is developing a reputation for stunning Mediterranean grape varieties and the ancient volcanic soils produce a diversity of taste.  Visiting up to four wineries  (and 1 olive grove) in the Heathcote district, the Community Bus will pick you up from home and return you safely with any wine purchases. Cost is $25 per person.

Ballarat Op-Shop Tour Wednesday 29 May, 9 - 4pm

Join us for our inaugural op-shop tour to Ballarat. Ballarat is spoilt for choice when it comes to op-shops, there are 24 to choose from - you’ll be sure to find a bargain or two! Cost is $20 per person.

 Community Bus Charters

The bus is available for hire by groups and individuals at the very reasonable rates of $125 per day + fuel (for 24 hours).

Short term hire is $15 per hour + fuel (for minimum 2 hours).

There is a discount for community groups $100 per day or $12 per hour + fuel.

Please note if the trip distance travelled exceeds 250kms there will be an additional fee of 35c per km charged.
