Long Lunch launch of the Solar Pergola project
The Maldon Neighbourhood Centre will be launching its new project “Powering Our Community: The Solar Pergola Project” on Sunday 24 April with a Long Lunch Fundraiser.
We are inviting everyone to invest in the future of the Maldon community by raising $6000 to install a 3kw solar panel system on the purpose-built pergola in the community garden. This will reduce our heating bills by $1000 every year so we can contribute even more to our community.
SUMMERTIME AT THE MALDON NEIGHBOURHOOD CENTRE
The Summer newsletter is out now and will be delivered to your door mid-January. It is jam-packed full of opportunities to learn, to met new people and to get involved in your community. We are closed over a lot of the summer but computers can be accessed at the Goldfields Library in Castlemaine or there is free wi-fi in town at Cafe Maldon or the Kangaroo Hotel.
We're open again on WEDNESDAY 27 JANUARY. We wish everyone a fun, safe and healthy Christmas.
MEDIA RELEASE: Maldon Takes a Stand
The Maldon Neighbourhood Centre is working to prevent domestic violence in our community.
The Maldon Neighbourhood Centre is proud to announce the action they are taking to prevent domestic violence. Maldon Neighbourhood Centre Coordinator Amy Atkinson says, ‘It’s time for us to acknowledge that domestic violence is a big issue for all people, whether you are directly or indirectly affected. We invite you to come along to the training program ‘Take a Stand’ which is the first step in the Neighbourhood Centre’s year-long focus on preventing violence against women and children.”
CHRISTMAS AT MALDON MARKET
Maldon Market Turns Two
November 8th is a special day for the now extremely popular Maldon Market – it’s its second birthday.
And like any two-year-old’s party, there’s going to be fun, presents and music to help celebrate.
Even though it’s only two years old, the Maldon Market has become one of the most popular kids on the block when it comes to country markets. In its short but busy lifetime, it has given many community groups the opportunity to raise over $30,000 in funds to go towards projects, making the market a much-loved member of the local family.
