Tarrangower Dementia Alliance is a group of local individuals and organisations working to make positive change for people living with dementia in our community. Community members are welcome to join the alliance, or to take part in any of the events and activities organised by the alliance.

Mission

Make life easier for people with dementia, their families and carers.

Vision

Actively working to improve the wellbeing of people living with memory loss and dementia, their carers and families, in the Tarrangower Community

Purpose

The purpose of the Tarrangower Dementia Alliance (TDA) is to develop and implement a dementia friendly community action plan for the Tarrangower community.

The alliance aims to achieve this through a formal partnership between key stakeholders and people living with dementia and their carers, which enables the sharing of information and resources and the actioning of the developed plan within agreed timelines.

Objectives

The action plan will be co-designed with consumers, but will link to the following objectives:

- Promote access to dementia education
- Reduce the social stigma associated with dementia
- Provide a productive forum that encourages
sharing of ideas and resources to achieve agreed goals
open discussion to share information and implement solutions
- Promote a dementia friendly environment in the Tarrangower district.
