Age Friendly Communities

Supporting social participation, healthy ageing and inclusion of people as they age is really fundamental to an ‘age friendly community’. Maldon Neighbourhood Centre is partnering with Castlemaine Community House with the support of Mount Alexander Shire Council, who received funding from the Victorian Government to consult the community about local ‘age friendly’ projects.

Healthy Active Living

We are calling for interested people to sign up as a Positive Ageing Ambassador to help speak with people aged over 65 years. There will also be a local consultation event held on Wednesday 26 October after the Community Lunch to find out what the community think of the proposed projects, due to be rolled out in 2017.

Projects have been developed after talking extensively with community groups such as Senior Citizens and service providers across the Shire about the needs of the elderly.
