The Cinemachics will be at the Maldon Neighbourhood Centre again on Thursday 21 May, to ensure you have a good night while watching    the 2011 dark Irish comedy written by John Michael McDonagh and starring Brendon Gleeson.

THE GUARD portrays the lives of three very different policemen and how they attempt law and order in Galway.

David Stratton’s comments about it included this QQ ‘Augmenting a smart, witty screenplay is magnificent Scope camerawork by Larry Smith, using beautiful locations around the west coast of Ireland, which is a pretty dangerous place if this thoroughly entertaining and exceptionally well-acted film is to be believed.”

Meanwhile our MMFS Committee has recently spent a gruelling few hours developing a list of movies to be shown monthly from July 2015 – July 2016. The list will be presented at the May screening for members to shortlist five.

Our trusty Tech Elf Ross and his Sorcerer’s Apprentice Barry will be at the ready, mastering the art of projection onto the big screen, so kindly donated by Clinton.

Come along at 7:15 for a 7:30 start. Bring a chair if you prefer yours to ours, and a plate for intermission. We look forward to another entertaining night at the movies.
