Have a say on the Maldon Streetscape Plan

Created: Tuesday, 31 October 2017

Council is working on a project to create a more attractive, safe and accessible town centre in Maldon while preserving the town’s heritage character.

Following community consultation and input from a newly established Maldon Streetscape Committee we have worked with consultants to develop a draft streetscape plan based on what people love and areas for improvement.

The findings have been used to develop a concept plan for the main streets in the town centre, and a set of proposed design standards for things like paving, lighting and street furniture.

A key recommendation in the plan is an update to the intersection on the corner of Main and High Streets to improve pedestrian safety and improve the ‘OldBank’ corner to better reflect the quality of heritage streetscapes throughout the town.
